Farscape was nice from what I saw... Babylon 5 seemed cool... DS9 had a crap ending IMO... Quantum leap? See: DS9.
As much as I like Star Trek TNG, Voyager & Stargate: Atlantis, my pick for best show with a decent run is Buffy.

The ride was rocky & sometimes painful but ultimately satisfying and sometimes truly amazing & hi-larious.

Thoughts?

I'd say
Buffy

The Twilight Zone

Star trek TNG(I echo your thoughts of the other 7 season Trek shows).

The Incredible Hulk

Buffy has to be at the top of the list, and even though it only went five seasons I'd have to include Angel as well.

TNG was very good for about four and a half of its seven seasons, and I'd say the same for DS9, the only difference being TNG was better late in the game and DS9 was better at the beginning.

I know there will be many to revile me for saying this, but I am still a big fan of LOST. Not everything worked, but for the majority of its six seasons I was extremely entertained. The finale was weak only in so much as it didn't completely close off the story, but I do think it was a good end to the season itself.

The new Outer Limits had a nice run on Showtime of 4 years, then went to Sci Fi for 3 more years. The two episodes I watch most that I copied to DVDs are with Nathan Fillion in Starcrossed, and Adam Baldwin in Phobos Rising. Both are fantastic performances and great stories.

Also, the original Twilight Zone ran for 5 years. I bought the complete set of 156 episodes last year. I really like the 18 one-hour episodes, which are more developed, and more like the original Outer Limits shows of the same era.

I can't even imagine what 5 years of Firefly might have produced.

I'm with you on this. I love LOST! Season five was the one I liked least - but I was still entertained. And the Pilot episode is one of the best ever!

Nine seasons. Had it's ups and downs, but was always the best thing on tv.

Buffy was easily the best long running show

I'll also add my vote for the already mentioned:

Angel
X-Files - poor after Mulder left.
Babylon 5
Lost
Stargate: Atlantis - the funniest and best of the SG series.
Quantum Leap - although I found the same basic formula over the seasons did get tiring. I too liked the ending.

And I'll add:

Red Dwarf
Battlestar Galactica (New)
Futurama

I agree. Buffy was awesome. And the last few years of The Next Generation were stellar.

Also, Mutt999... you might want to send your signature gif to Steamer here on FFF.net. Since his face is so prominent when he pulls his gun :-)
