Um...dumb question. How does it work? I mean, do you buy a pack of cards but not know which ones are in there, and you keep having to buy more packs to try and collect a complete set? Or can you buy specific cards?

That is the catch BritChick. The cards are randomly packed in the foil packs so you don't know what you are getting. Some cards, say character cards, are more rare than others. This inspires people to buy more packs in order to complete their collections.

The alternative that I and thousands have employed is to buy a complete box (not carton). Definitely a better deal than buying 5-card packs. But last time I did this was for Babylon 5. Do't know how much they cost now, but my dealer sold them to me discounted for about $60-$100 CDN.

yep thats about it..Most trading cards are worth lots of money (the more rare they are) and if it booms like pokemon or yu gi oh ..plus does anybody know if it will be more like a game formatt or just for collecting.( they will be worth more if kids start to play them..) I would though..
