I'm frakin' dizzy! Who do I trust?
Help me Obi-Wan Kwicko, you're my only hope.

I've had a Mazda 6 for 5 years now. I like it well enough. So, I might just get another one of those. I don't drive it too far though. So, it should be years and years before I think about a new car. Maybe by then I'll be looking at hybrid or electric.

Two many wheels.
Current ride (close approximation, not actually mine):
Desired ride, but couldn't wait for it to be imported to North America:
Ushuaia or bust, there's just this one life.

Quote:Too heavy. Won't easily jump curbs. 70MPH jump off 5 foot wall results in 19-21 foot sail before ground contact. That's NOT good.

Yeah, that's the downside, is the cost. You can go cheap, but you have to do *A TON* of the work yourself - like sourcing the engine, transmission, axles, driveshaft, engine management system, etc., *OR* you can go more expensive and get a nearly all-inclusive kit that you basically just put together. The $45k ones are generally "turn-key" models that are mostly (if not COMPLETELY) finished and ready to drive off their lot.
Also, it depends on how much power, lightness, and custom equipment you want. Basic model with a not much power should be cheap; 300hp version with carbon-fibre tub, bodywork, fenders, etc. is going to get VERY expensive in a hurry.
But seriously, for something this small and light, anything over a hundred horsepower is pure overkill. With a Ford Focus engine, this thing will absolutely KILL a Ferrari, Viper, or Corvette around a tight road course.

New 6 is really pretty. I've been hooked on Hondas for years, but more and more, I'm convinced there's a Mazda in my future. They've gotten VERY good, and have gotten pretty damn slick to boot.

Nearly there, Chris. Think "berm", as opposed to "curb". Note that that I farkled (beefed up) the suspension ere undertaking the journey. Though not the luggage. One sees a set of US Army spec ammo cases in one's near future, ie, soon as possible after the first and inevitable serious high/low side.
Back to cages... er, cars.
