If I was allowed to drive I'd find me an old EH Holden and have it repainted in one of it's original colours (turquoise/aqua) and get the engine remodelled to be greeener. The inside would be done in tan leather.

and to finally get back to the original intent of this thread...
next car? not sure of a model, but i do definitely want a hybrid.( was leaning towards a Prius or a Ford Fusion hybrid, if the Fusion didn't cost thirty grand..) as i just don't realistically see gas prices plummeting anytime soon, or another fuel becoming really viable for another 15-20 yrs minimum. Last Ride was a 2000 Hyundai Sonata. his name was Bob. Bought him in Aug 01 with 16k miles. Sold This past Feb with 103k miles. no real problems.
Replaced him with an '05 Dodge Neon SXT ,54k mi.
Bought off my brother($4000.) who just didn't find the neon fun to drive anymore. He bought an '06 Mustang with 20-some odd thousand miles on it.
(he's since put a Roush front strut brace,tried 3 Different sets of Mufflers, a set of Bullit Wheels, and now a set of Shelby wheels on said mustang.
since February.

and i should add new tires to go with each set of wheels.)

What you have pictured there is a kit car. A project. Think of it as a 1:1 scale model. You can totally build this. SonIsAll can help. Then he can drive. That car, kitted out, weighs less than one thousand pounds. Think about that - it weighs LESS THAN HALF what my CRX weighs, and that CRX weighs less than half of what most cars weigh these days.
Lightness is its own reward. It brings amazing handling, phenomenal fuel economy, great fun, and teaches you how to drive by thinking ahead, since there generally isn't much power in a very light car, so you have to plan well ahead for passing, etc.
Do this. You know you want to. It's imperative. When you're 75 and SonIsAll is married with children, you're never going to look back and say "Remember when we went looking at New Beetles?" But build a car together, and you'll have stories to tell your grandchildren, and he'll have stories to tell HIS grandchildren!
