Prediction: Joss Whedon writes and directs X-Men 3

Okay... wishful thinking at this point.

But it does look as if Bryan Singer will NOT be involved with the writing or directing of X-Men 3 (he has signed on to helm the new Superman film and also has a remake of Logan's Run in the works so Fox/Marvel films are moving on without him on X3).

So, let's say Fox/Marvel films get an advanced look at Serenity... dig the crap out of it... like what Whedon (an X-Men fan from waaaay back and presently writing an X-title for Marvel) has in mind for the third installment of the film franchise and sign him on.

Obviously there will be a lot of applicants for the X3 directing job, but don't you think Whedon's rising star and existing Marvel associations kinda make him a shoe in?

I hope so!

It's not THAT big of a leap from a $50 million film (Serenity) to a $150+ million film is it? Previously low budget director Sam Raimi was a gamble for Spider-Man and look how that turned out!

PS: wouldn't it be great if Joss could pick one or two Mutant Enemy writers to assist him with the script?!

Hmm. I would say you're prolly correct!

I bet $10 (Canadian) Joss will write and/or direct X-3.

I also predict it will be hell for him to do and it will suck... but that might just be my curry lunch talking.
