Nope, didn't go to the electronics expo - saw some footage online. Wish I got to go - I'm a gadget geek! (Oddly, I'm somewhat of a Luddite, too, though - so I'm *intrigued* and fascinated by the gadgets, but it always takes me a while to finally jump in!)

Go fuck yourself.
On this matter, make no mistake. I want you to go fuck yourself long and hard, as well as anyone who agrees with you. I got no use for you.
Friday, May 28, 2010 - 18:26 To President Obama:
Mr. President, you're a god damn, mother fucking liar.
Fuck you, you cock sucking community activist piece of shit.
... go fuck yourself, Mr. President.

I guess I've been lucky(and feel bad about it sometimes because I know I am not the most deserving). I've won with War Emblem to win in the tri-fecta of a lifetime(paid my mortgage in a rough year and bought it on a whim driving home). I've always got the girl I wanted, I won my first fishing derby when I was nine, I won a turkey the first time I ever shot a gun, I won class couple and class best friends in high school(although I was neither ...Story for a different time), Once took a vacation I couldn't really afford to St.Kitts and won the price in a one night stay-over in Peurto Rico playing craps. However, I feel most lucky because my babies were both born healthy and continue to be(10 and 14). I have a wonderful family and great friends(although smaller in #'s by the year..friends). I found Firefly and Buffy by accident because I got divorced and was depressed(Watched FF in one sitting and All of Buffy in three nights) and they saved me in my way. I still feel like I could have been more lucky(which is crazy because I live on a fantastic lake in the greatest state in America CT)
I do wish you the best and am sorry you feel unlucky. Wishimay, life is strange. Give it time, keep a positive outlook and your door will open. That is a Kaneman guarantee.
I just reread that and I didn't want to sound content and happy with my life. I have had many regrets(just debating Kwikco comes to mind
) and have had many things go against me(Much were much more meaningful than winning a turkey shoot or fishing derby).
I guess what I am saying is keep your head up, work towards the best, and at the same time glorify what you do have. And never underestimate what you DO have...I don't have it..
Good luck.....Kaneman

(edited many years later to add "I got injured a week later and ended up selling the thing I won to pay medical bill"
Yep, still a loser...

I am now so jealous of you words can't cover it.
I hear she's really nice and friendly to those that meet her in person. Lucky bugger.
I've won a couple of things in my life but nothing much.
I entered a competition in a video store once and won a £100 of HMV vouchers to spend on videos (back before DVDs were around).
and I don't follow football at all but during my A-levels some friends were having a bet on the outcome of an England match that night. They needed one more place filled and begged me until I gave in and handed over my £1. I predicted a 0-0 draw and they said no way but I just wanted them to shut up. The following morning I hadn't even checked the result when a bag of money dropped on my desk. I'd won £25 and was very happy to take their money.

I guess it all depends on the type of contests one enters.
Lotteries and such, well, the chances of winning are so low to begin with. Don't base you luck on those as only very few people win. Contests of skill, on the other hand...
I haven't 'won' anything of note. Back when the Serenity movie site was up, I 'won' a Serenity dewrag, kerchief, whatever you want to call it, as an 'also participated' for a short story I contributed. BUT it was the first step on the road to becoming a writer.
Since then, I've had several runners-up but no wins and I don't care. One of the runners-up wins resulted in being included in an anthology of short stories.
Ultimately, it's not what you win or don't win, it's that you tried and learned, right?
Maybe I'm too optimistic.

I won a copy of "Still Flying" at this year's CSTS.
My husband is super lucky - he's won an xBox 360, a snowboard, a watch and other stuff.
