Wow, an Israeli fan! I'm not alone!
First of all, welcome.
Second - as you probably understood already, there's gonna be a movie. It will come out on April 22, 2005. It's name will be Serenity, and I do hope it will get to Israel (or I'm gonna kill somebody...)
The language they speak is Chinese. The idea is that the only nations that remained from Earth-That-Was are the US and China.
Now why was the show cancelled? There are a couple of reasons, and the main is that not enough people were watching it. I myself blame Fox for placing the show on a horrible time slot, mixing the order of the episodes, not showing the original pilot and many more reasons. Both of you aren't alone.. I'm Israeli too, although I've seen the show before it got to the television.
By the way, it's not over yet, I think.. Or is objects in space the last one?

Welcome to the board Kir86, Reginleif, & Person. It is great to have new fans, especially those from other countries join us. It is great to see the show is still floating around out there bringing in new browncoats.

Unfortunately Person, Objects in Space is the final episode.

There is the DVD set out now (though I am not sure if Israel is considered Region 2 or not) and the movie coming out in the Spring. Still a lot going on in the Firefly verse.

And as for the "FOX has the rights for 10 years" issue, assuming Serenity becomes the blockbuster we're all hoping for, I'm guessing FOX might call 'em back. . .

As to the question about the DVD - no, you can't get them in Israel (though maybe now after the show was aired someone will change that) but you can order them on the internet (*ahm*like I did). I really hope the show will get popular in Israel so that the DVDs will be sold here too and the movie will arrive here faster.
