Yeah, umm, Firefly just got to israel, and as a matter of fact, it's over already (~15 episodes).
I found out that there're no more series, no more firefly seasons. So, I wanted to ask you stuff, What about the movie(s)? I read somewhere it is more than 1 movie? is that correct? and what's the deal with cancelling this high potentiol (typo?) show? This show is great to me as a sci fi fan and as one that watches alot of movies and series :).

All the characters are great. Jayne is funny is in a retardedly way (example: "The Message" Episode with the hat ), Kaylee is cute and smart and so on.
If i'll have anything more to say, i'll post here :)

p.s: What is this language they talk in sometimes? sounds a bit like chinese..

Hi, and yes, please post any ideas.

The idea of the show is that "The Alliance" is one between descendents/successors of China and the US, so that Mandarin often creeps into the conversations, mostly as curses.

A movie, "Serenity", not to be confused with the pilot episode, is being made that will open in the US in April of 2005. Depending on its success, there may be more movies.

The reason the show was cancelled? There has been much speculation on that, but it amounts pretty much to the show being put in a deadly time slot (and maybe moved around a lot), the pilot "Serenity" being shown last, not first, and the episodes being shown in an almost random order. In short, it seems that some Fox executive decided to exercise "initiative" to "improve" the show.

The bottom line (as always) was that the numbers did not suggest that the show should continue.

This mystifies me as much as the popularity of the inspid Reality Type shows that replaced it.

Thanks for replying.
In israel they showed it in exact order, I was really surprised.

So, you're saying that if firefly was put in a more convinient time slot on FOX, then it wouldn't have been canceled? I thought it didn't have good rating...
Anyway, to be this show is really great and I wish I could do something to bring it back

Oh, what's with Inara? is she in love with mal? cuz in that episode with the "Whores" she cried after he told her that he spent the night with Nandi.

Perhaps her tears were over Nandi, not Mal?

She cried before nandi was killed...

Hi Kir86
It is so sweet to watch the newbies discover Firefly, going through the same trials and tribulation we (US) did a couple of years ago! I'm teasin' ya Kir86. You have found friendship with the Browncoats here on the board and with a little searching on the posts you will find guesses (Joss Whedon is the only one who knows the truth)to all your questions and more!

As far as why Fox cancelled it, well, it always comes down to the money doesn't it? And if Firefly wasn't making it (through no fault of its own) they yank it off the air. Universal, who is backing the movie "gets it" and depending on its success (which we Browncoats have a direct role to play by buying tickets and seeing it over and over) there could be multiple movies. Jewel Staite (Kaylee) says Fox has the TV rights for 10 years.

Welcome to the world of Firefly!

Hello Kir86, and welcome! We are all here because we love Firefly. You are among friends.

There are a LOT of questions we have about the characters - what is Shepherd Book's past, why is Inara so afraid to get involved with Mal, will Kaylee and Simon EVER kiss.......

People have their own theories. Some make a lot of sense, some not so much. I have two suggestions. One, read through the old posts here at FireflyFans.net. Haken, the guy who runs this place (thanks again Haken!) has all the old threads available to read, and they should answer a lot of your questions. And Two, watch the episodes again and again. You will see things you missed the first (or even fifth) time through.

Once again, welcome!!

JAYNE "Pain is scary..."
