7 new shows, my guess is they'll spend around $3 an episode.

Gee, only two of the seven seem like FIREFLY rip-offs.

And this is bad, how?
Its 7 shows that aren't ghost-hunters, psychic moms or rasslin'.
Some of 'em might even turn out entertaining.

What is great about science fiction is you can go any direction you want. It looks like SyFy is going to give it a try. I wish them success. Rather selfish of me, because I am looking forward to seeing some good science fiction.

My guess it'll get money from selling the props from "Warehouse 13", which should be canceled.

That article also fails to mention DVD sales. They make a fair bit on those, especially on the shows they own in full (which is why they like Warehouse 13 - no partners like they have/had on shows like Stargate or BSG).

Unfortunately, I will probably always have a little bit of a chip on my shoulder when it comes to Sci Fi Channel refused to pick up FIREFLY because they said they didn't have the money. It's particularly annoying to me that they actually use FIREFLY as a reference point for one of the shows.
Won't stop me from tuning in. I'll just whine about it. :)
