Media Liberals on 'JournoList' Plotted to Bury the Jeremiah Wright Story in 2008
The Daily Caller has another scoop on the leftist JournoList e-mails today, recalling when liberal scribes all wanted the Jeremiah Wright story to be dead and buried in the spring of 2008. Jonathan Strong explained "Employees of news organizations including Time, Politico, the Huffington Post, the Baltimore Sun, the Guardian, Salon and the New Republic participated in outpourings of anger over how Obama had been treated in the media, and in some cases plotted to fix the damage.
In one instance, Spencer Ackerman of the Washington Independent urged his colleagues to deflect attention from Obama’s relationship with Wright by changing the subject. Pick one of Obama’s conservative critics, Ackerman wrote, “Fred Barnes, Karl Rove, who cares — and call them racists.”

We have gone into the "voter intimidation" case at length in another thread. Read it and catch up. Or not.
You want to talk some serious ELECTION fraud, or play tit for tat about voter REGISTRATION fraud, go there.
BUSH declined to prosecute for lack of evidence, that's why they filed the civil suit. Obama's attorneys have declined to pursue it--and if you look at the truly serious cases of election fraud out there, you'd see why.
In a nutshell: this was two guys, one with a nightstick and yelling epithets in front of a polling place which historically has gone SERIOUSLY Democratic, where a lot of black people living in housing projects--like 500 to 28 something democratic. Any "intimidation" would have had no impact on the results. NO official complaints were made by any voters.
There's lots more; we covered it and debated it and beat it to death. 'Nuff said.![]()

None of which has anything to do w/ msm actively trying to bury a story because it shows THEIR candidate in a bad light.
Which, of course, was only the truth.

How big a part did Fox and WSJ play in this? What was Rush's role in this? How about Beck and O'Reilly? Breitbart?
They're all part of the so-called "MSM", whether you care to accept it or not. In fact, Fox and Rush *ARE* the "main" of the "Mainstream Media", and are the de facto voices of the Republican party, one of the only two mainstream parties in the nation. In fact, most on the right claim that the Republicans are the ONLY mainstream party in America. As such, your mouthpieces HAVE TO be seen as the heart of the "MSM", don't they?
So why did they help collude and cover up this story? And why aren't you furious with them over it?

So its ok to intimidate folks if it has no effect on the results?
I live in a white suburb, does that mean its ok for a fella to show up with a weapon and threaten the black voters and poll watchers? Somehow I don't think that's the legal standard we should be using.
The official complaints were made by the poll watchers...which is kinda what they are there for. Sure, they could simply watch that votes are cast correctly and counted properly...but that would require them to ignore the armed man threatening them and others outside because of the their race and party. That seems wrong to me, that it does not to you is sad.
I note for the record that I prosecuted a person for assaulting another person at a polling place during the 2008 election. The County Prosecutor shared party affiliation with the Defendant and refused to authorize felony charges for voter intimidation and attempted election fraud. So I used my own authority to Prosectute the person for assault and disorderly conduct. I authorized the charge BEFORE I learned the party affiliation of the persons involved. I tried the case with no mention of Party or who voted for who or whether the results were put into question. It was wrong, it was illegal and that is the only standard that should matter in a case like this.
As for the media coverage of the Panther story...it does not matter since most folks have stopped paying attention to the mainstream media because they simply DON'T report the news. Meanwhile FOX ratings continue to climb, another story disregarded by the media and covered only by FOX (just once I'd like to see CBS or MSNBC brag about being last like FOX does for being first).
"This is MSNBC, your last source for the day's news and non-award winning analysis."
"CBS, not fair or balanced but nobody watches so thats ok."

Of course ANY voter intimidation is serious, and civil charges were filed, a verdict was rendered; the NBP just ignored it.
My point was that there is serious ELECTION FRAUD going on out there all the time...Dumbya's guys had no interest whatsoever in pursuing it unless it was about the Dems (or even FICTITIOUS claims about the Dems), and I'd rather have them dealing with the serious stuff that actually impacts an election than chasing one guy who was full of himself and wanted attention in a place where it didn't make any difference to the election anyway.
That's the main point: There IS serious election fraud (NOT "voter registration fraud") out there, and, for all the GOP has made it their regular activity to scream about it where it concerns the Dems, FAKE it about Dems and fire attorneys who wouldn't follow up when there was no actual evidence of Dem tampering, they have historically done FAR more and FAR worse.
It's a nonstory because it's being used as a political ploy, period. Of COURSE FauxNews is all over it; ust like "Newsbusters", they drool at any opportunity (real or fabricated) to attack Obama or the Dems. No surprise there; maybe the rest of the MSM sees it for what it is and has more important stories to cover (like Lindsay Lohan...).
I got no respect for the MSM, but far less for FauxNews and their agenda (not to mention THEIR prove frauds).![]()
