If you love sci-fi, Inception will not disappoint.
You may leave the theater scratching your head, you may be confused, perplexed and/or baffled, but you will not be bored. Go with a friend or family member who loves movies that challenge as well as entertain. You will thank me later.

Don't get me wrong, this movie is not perfect. There are a very few minor plot holes, but it takes you on a journey that few hollywood films these days can even dream to achieve. It is an intricate maze of complex approaches into the human psyche and attempts to throw you off balance. We are given a healthy serving of the Matrix flavored by Borne Identity type action. It is espionage mixed in with Memento logistics.

When we left the theater we discussed what we saw for nearly 2 hours, and yet I am still wondering if what was discussed made sense. It kind of reminded me of The Fountain, only not as perplexing. It is both familiar territory and uncharted waters. It asked some the same age-old questions, but created new ones. It has you thinking moment to moment along with the characters. In other words, you feel the experience.

I don't want to overhype this movie. Like I said before it's not perfect - but parts of it are brilliant. Look for strong performances from DiCaprio, Ellen Page and Joseph Gordon Leavitt (who should get an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting). This time Nolan should get a nod for Best Director as well. I need to see this movie again, once I process what I saw some 10 hours ago. Again, if you love sci-fi - go see for yourself. It is worth every penny.

Ok enjoyed it but not for simple minds. Dreamscape with Matrix twist. Added Borne ID and Tek Wars flavor. When it was raining you could see the blue skys and palm trees of LA. But hey it's a dream.

Absolutely brilliant movie that kept me going throughout the whole experience. Brilliantly acted and directed. Complex but not so much that you can't follow what's going on and will provide further rewards on repeated viewings.
Makes The Matrix look like a kids story and completely shats all over the sequels. Intelligent, action packed, funny in small parts, and thought provoking.

It was nice to see that Ellen Page and Marion Cotillard weren't just cast as token females and actually played major parts in the overall story.
The fight scenes were incredible especially knowing that Nolan used as little CGI as possible and instead went for revolving rooms.

As for what the film was about and how it played out then that's something I'm not ready to commit to yet. Obviously the broad message is live in reality not in dreams but there was so much more to it. I have a couple of decent theories and some other ideas floating around in my brainpan but I only saw it a few hours ago and it hasn't had time to settle yet.

This is probably gonna be my film of the year as I can't think of anything being released later this year that could beat it. A rare breed amongst the dredge of pointless remakes, dumb comedies, kiddie-fied action and non-scary horror movies.

Hey CL, that sci-fi blog post acts like a players scorecard, but the experience of this movie is far more complicated than that.

It was kinda like being on a roller coaster: you know you're on a ride, but where it goes you know not. But really good find though, I like it as just that: a scorecard or guide.

I suspect that come Oscar time you'll be seeing record noms behind this brilliant film. Mark my words.
