Hahaha! You're right, that looks like Homer Simpson under the reaver attack title.

So from what I can see there is Japanese, Chinese (looks simplified but I'm not expert), Arabic and English. Shiny!

Looking at this and reading the blogs from the Browncoat extras, does it seem like Serenity is going to be more on the Sci-Fi end of the spectrum, as opposed to the Western side, like the TV show was, imho?

Maybe Joss decided that Japan, instead of China, and the United States were the two superpowers to survive. If you think about it, it makes a whole lot more sense because the government is a corporation.

1) There is far more Chinese in those designs than Japanese.
2) There is another language represented which is possibly Arabic.

This has to be a fake. There's a Homer Simpson head in it. And the Homer Simpson head is the one from the episode where his picture appeared in Japanese advertisements.

They do have a spaceship, I hear.

The design stuff and extras sound like they're for a particular planet stop. Or hopefully some of it's for fleshing out the Serenity dashboard a bit, cortex functions and such. Also keep in mind that any more Western themed shot would more than likely require many less extras and much less computer design. And that they've done the outdoors shooting already (correct me if wrong?).

Even with that, it might be fair to say we'll see more sci-fi. *shrug* We'll see.

That is true. Alot of the 'westerny' shots would have been out doors, so would likely be finished already (though it only took them a couple weeks!) Anyways, I hope they keep the same blend of horses and spaceships, and all the other shiny FF western goodness than made the show so visually unique!
