Unemployed in Toronto, with hopes of starting an airbrushing business in the near future (shirts, jackets, gas tanks, helmets). This is a fun show, I find I identify with Jayne a lot.

Usually I post on the sff.net newsgroups about Firefly, nice to be here with y'all.

Film and English Major, first year in Ottawa. Joss is a role model of mine, if it wasn't already evident from my nickname.

Is he on that show about the cabdriver who solves problems for people?

(pause while everyone groans)

Anyway, I'm just an idiot who watches way too much TV instead of trying to make something of my life.

I was born prior to some of you, and I fall into the male demographic.

I photographed rock bands for a while but nobody famous.

I like to read about aviation and history.

And I enjoy quiet walks on the beach. Seriously. I do.

I am a program manager working for the same over-powered company as Hjermsted (although, the company is large enough that I have never met Our Mr. Hjermsted in person). (and No, I won't buy you software at the company store either, because I can't even buy it for myself.... damn contractors...)

I am also a karaoke host, running my own business, Celestial Star Productions. Poor little company is still very much in the red, so I keep the day job with Big Brother.

I love reading, singing, movies and board games. Other than that, I spend my time trying to line up exciting new crime.

Up until the punchin, this was a real nice party.

Based on the way the last three years have gone for me professionally and financially while others in my profession have no troubles, I suspect my role in life is to protect others from bad luck by absorbing it for them (over and over). But, if you ignore the fact that my life's been one long running disaster for three years, the answer would be that I'm a former forester for the Florida Division of Forestry, who had grown up in Missouri and couldn't stand Florida and therefor moved to Pennsylvania a few months ago and has since then worked temp jobs while looking for a way back into forestry in this region...

Reading through this thread again I just realized that I neglected to say what I actually do for a living now. (Although if the intent is to get a sense of the person, my original post suffices.) I work for a little hi-tech company building subassemblies for a device that (I swear to God) looks uncannily like a phasor-type weapon from 90's era Star Trek. As for what it is - a handheld device that analyzes the composition of certain things at the atomic level - they joke around here that it's the ancient ancestor of the tricorder.

I'm the Design Director for a newspaper on the East Coast. (I've learned the hard way not to get more specific than that!) I handle the overall visual look of the paper on a daily basis.

No phaser-like devices here, but I do get groovy press passes and a big press sticker to put on my winshield. For some reason, it scares people when I follow 'em.

I'm a poor college student in San Diego who's wishing for a job. Though I work at my school newspaper enough that I'd call it a job if they'd just pay me.
