I think the writers were working with the idea that only a select few Terminators have a personality and are conscious and most others are no more aware than a hand-held, talking navigation computer for a car. Cameron was suppose to be an emerging consciousness -- a metal Pinocchio puppet, except she would evolve over many episodes into a real woman, not a boy.

But then the storyline jumps forward fast and out-of-control when Allison Young's memories suddenly pop into Cameron's metal noggin. It is the passing of the pure bullshit mystical torch of life to a machine. (Ray Kurzweil doesn't agree that it is bullshit. Phooey on him and The Singularity, also know as the Rapture of the Nerds, where the richest tech people get eternal life by becoming machines.)

Discussions of consciousness are too subtle for TV or me. All the Terminators should have been declared as conscious entities, even the ones that are duplicates. That way the humans can feel warm and fuzzy when they kill 'em -- it's personal, it's not just business. And save the sophomore philosophical arguments about what is consciousness and humanness for the movies. Whoops! Movies are dumber than TV. Save it for the novelization.

I think Angel had a fantastic ending that fitted the show. But I also agree with you in wanting more. To me, and I'm sure many others, it ended two seasons too early. There were still stories to tell. TSCC has a similar feeling although they end differently.

I thought it was to dark, I like Hotpoints take better, he has if anyone should happen not to know, also written a really good Buffy Angel Crossover, where Ilyria takes back through time to make a "few" changes(arives at the vinyard just before Xander loses his eye) can be found at either Fanfiction.net or Twisting the hellmouth under Hotpoint.

I just love it :-)

I'd recommend The Angel comic books that pick up right where season 5 left off.

Unlike the Buffy comic, Angel is actually well written, and feels like the show a lot.

Thanks, but I cannot deal with the art. It's a really subjective thing, I realize. The Buffy art was only a bit better to me.
