hey all! i'm creeping in here, tail between my legs, head hung in shame. see, i'm all too aware of the fact that i'm about 2 years too late to be jumping on he firefly bandwagon, but i suppose it's better late than never, right? right??

anyhow, i recently picked up the dvd set and fell in love. like, obsessive-compulsive, all encompassing, where-have-you-been-all-my-life-love. so i have to ask, is there some penance i must perform now to be worthy? some lost time i must make up for? i obviously wasn't there for you during the campaigns to keep the show on the air or get the BDM greenlighted, but dammit, i'm here now!! put me to work!!

Rest easy, atreyu. It's certainly not your fault you never heard about it. (everyone say "GORRAMNFOX!")

The main thing you can do now is just try to make sure your DVD's are being viewed by someone, somewhere at all times. I have three sets and keep two permanently on loan. Welcome to the crew!

and sergeantx...the worst part is, i can't claim ignorance...well, ignorance of firefly anyway. i had certainly heard of it. i'm a HUGE fan of buffy and angel. honestly, i just remember thinking, "space cowboys? wtf? joss, have you finally lost it?" and, of course, the whole friday night thing didn't help much either...seeing as how i remember having much more of a live a couple years back. it was really after the abrupt cancellation of angel this past season and fox's cutting out of wonderfall's budding legs that i started thinking i may have really missed out on something special with firefly. i became involved with the campaigns to save both of those shows and everyone kept mentioning that this was just how they felt with firefly was cancelled. so i thought about it...joss whedon...tim minear...nathan fillion in tight pants...i suppose there has to be SOMETHING there....

so anyhow, i'm definitely helping to hook my friends, starting with my fellow buffyverse fanatics. by the time serenity hits the screens i plan to arrive with a caravan of BIG DAMN FANS.

You and me both! I'm a newbie, too, but YOU had the courage to SHOUT IT. Go ON! Hey, um... I don't WANT to be spanked, but I could juggle baby geese! *goes into corner to juggle* *comes back after realizing juggle skills suck and gets ready for spanking*

I have watched Firefly almost every day for the past TWO MONTHS so I know where you're coming from. Begun reading fanfic, writing my own, and contemplating joining the fans in the Universal shrubbery. The beauty of the Firefly on DVD is that 1) now the world can see just what a cool, well-written, well-acted tv show is SUPPOSED to be like, 2) you WANT to lend them out to your friends and spread the love (unless you have only one like me --cue Bubbles from Finding Nemo-- "My bubbles." My Firefly.), 3) you can watch them over and over, from commentary to awesome stories and great one-liners to Adam's blue eyes

to Nathan's priceless facial expressions to Morena's voice (!) etc., etc.....

So it's not too late.

I've found that this is my favorite Firefly forum. I love the folks here... they range in age and interests... it's not clique-ish either. Y'all are so nice and high-larious as all get-out... and shiny! Thanks everybody, especially those who've been here since the beginning and kept it alive.

i did a bit of lurking around in other forums before i picked one to make my big plea for acceptance. i must admit, i felt a bit like inara choosing her client for the evening. not to imply that i'm going to sleep with any of you or that you're going to pay me, or, oh dear, i've made it dirty already.

i must say, that's a very generous offer annik , but i think i'll pass, thanks anyway. i did discover all of the amazing t-shirts and goodies available at cafepress yesterday though...i definitely plan on stocking up there.

on another note...i was hoping all of you more seasoned fans could share your vast knowlege and superior intelligence with me. (see how i butter you up there? nice, huh?) i've heard that there was one more full script that was written, but never filmed. any idea as to where i might be able to find that?
