If she was saved from dying, then the whole point is lost.
I enjoyed the lack of a happy ending on that episode. I am surprised anyone would wish to tack one on.

Actually, I want to say it's one of the "Shatner"-authored books. As I know about the group and the only ST books I've read recently is that series.
