I really don't understand why people love the original so much. The Terminator was a B movie. It seem to be unintentionally campy and ridiculous. I went to a show where they showed the movie with comedians cracking jokes a la MST3K. It was quite hilarious but it was like shooting fish in a barrel.
???
Can't figure what would be considered hilarious about that movie. It was filmed on a tight budget, but the acting is great, and the story is solid.

Hey, about that one, is it just me, or does the 5.1 seem REALLY inferiour to the original mono soundtrack on the DVD? I mean, they added some cool little audio touches, but it just seems bland in comparison to the sharper mono, IMHO.
The mono is better on the standard special edition dvd. I own the Blu-Ray, and the 5.1 uncompressed audio is pretty sweet though.

the theatrical 'kiddies' cut I saw, not the unrated version.
Is it worth seeing the unrated version? Are there many differences aside from blood, swearing etc?
It struck me as a movie version of a Firefly comic- not absolutely necessary, but a very entertaining little diversion.
As opposed to T3, which I found insulting.

How DARE you call Moon Bloodgood's breasts insignificant!

Awww, but Beneath had the best ending EVER!!!!
OK, Beneath was pretty decent. But it would have been so much better if Heston had agreed to do the entire film and not just a cameo.
Little known fact, did you know Heston wanted the role of Brody in Jaws? Spielberg turned him down because he was too "famous" at the time. He thought the audience would be too wrapped up in Heston performance, and not be afraid of the shark.

It was like, really REALLY good fanfic! In no way the equal of the first two, but light years better than the mess that was T3 IMO.
I avoided until now, but lack-O-new stuff made me buy it on the cheap out of curiosity.
I recommend a rental or cheap buy here!
Anyone else think it was worth a viewing?

Hello,
I was surprised it was pleasant to watch.
My favorites are:
Terminator 2 (Acting, production values, story, all top-notch. Militant Mom made a lot of sense when you consider that she literally has the weight of the world on her every minute of every hour of every day for years.
Terminator 1 (Most people think the first movie is always the best, but while Terminator 1 is essential to the story, it just wasn't the best film.)
Terminator Salvation (It didn't suck. That was a surprise for me.)
Terminator That Shall Not Be Named (Sucked hardcore with extra Dyson wind-tunnel technology.)
