Actually... just got done replying to an email from Mr Patric Reynolds, the artist on Float Out... He did send in an acknowledgement of his inspirations to Dark Horse, but they failed to print it for some reason.
I told him that I for one was honored that Artships & I were able to inspire him, and thanked him for making the ships look so good.

Just heard from Mullins and... Wow! Flattering to see other artists pickup on my stuff.
Bellflower -- Hey! New spaceship pics! -- Has permission to use the pictures. This comic... Could have asked. Oh! "official merchandise"? Maybe I can get copy of my very own?

I was more than fortunate to find a wellspring of ideas that were very thoughtfully designed by such dedicated artists who have created (and maintained) a completely engaging universe. I am glad that their ideas have gotten the visibility they deserve by being depitcted in a mainstream comic. They were too good not to be seen by so many readers and they only add to the rich Serenity vocabulary. The artist's imagination not only saved me a lot of headaches, but they have inspired me to keep thinking about how I as an artist can push my own creative boundaries.
