Good Lord...just looking at that freaks me out, and I'm not even afraid of heights!
How does something like that even happen?

I had about the same reaction. Gave me the shivers a bit.

** ANYONE ** who thinks the Fed Gov't has done " all it possibly can " in response the Gulf Coast oil disaster, or who thinks Obama isn't lying to us all - I have no use for you. You deserve all the animosity and any vulgar "tone" directed your way. ( Anthony , that includes you, buddy. Sorry )

Got to say in seeing the pics online today that it is a bit creepy. It does look like what I'd imagine a Hellmouth would look like. It just looks so unnatural, almost as if it were manmade.

I thought it looked completely unreal as well. Though not just manmade kind of unreal, but like digital effects kind of unreal.
How deep is that thing??

Is that sinkhole lined with rock? Looks like an ancient well. Very circular.

Seriously, what is up with all the sinkholes lately? There have been quite a few big ones appearing just in Missouri.

Photoshopped images can do that to ya.
But this might not be one of them...
