ok ok ok. . . enough with the is he a badass or not" stuff. Joss knows what he's doing. If anyone else had written the script, or been placed in the directors seat, I'd be worried. Since that's not the case, I'm anxiously anticipating what he has for us.
ANYWAY... I noticed that Wash's new flight suit has a patch on the arm. I can't quite make it out except for the letters Lyndo.... Perhaps thats a key to figuring if it's a flashback, part of a job, etc. . . I guess it's a reach, but the rush of incredible news has slowed and we're all anxious. Flame if you feel the need. I just don't want to be one of those who begged and begged for more, but didn't appreciate what I got. Know what I'm saying?

Yeah, I agree with you man. I put my two cents in earlier, but I'm honestly to the point now where I'm ready to just sit back and close my eyes until next April, because I'd rather be completely surprised than have all this speculative garbage flyin' through my head. Hell, the series has given me enough to speculate on. Let's just all leave it what it is...a stellar picture of Alan Tudyk.

Who cares what the patch says... He's Wash the Pilot!!

I recall, listening to the DVD commentaries, that Tudyk had originally thought his character was in the army, but was captured early on and sat out the war. Then, come 'War Stories,' we find out this was not the case at all... what WAS the case?

Clue #1 ... THAT PICTURE.

Until someone posts a pic of Kaylee in a miniskirt, this'll just have to do for, y'know, Raw Serenity Naughtiness.

How frustrating for us dudes.

I'm w/Bello. It's just a damned good picture of Wash/Alan. Maybe it's a flash back to flight school, or a previous job. Maybe it's a disguise (as in the pilot's uniform for Ariel). Maybe it's a uniform Mal imposes for a very special passenger, like the king of Londinium. Y'all go on and pick your fantasy. I'm going with the "good picture of Wash" theory my-own-self.

Dude. . .

Someone DID. Check out the "Dreamcon" pics.

There is no place on that woman I would not put my tongue.

Someone asked me once if I had a chance to 'hook up' with Jewel Staite would I do it, or remain faithful to Mahealani? I said I'd remain faithful, and Mahealani said, "Dumbass."

OT Don't forget to check out Wonderfalls http://www.savewonderfalls.com/extras.html#epguide, for Jewel you want 'sodes Lying Pig and Cocktail Bunny available on a usenet feed near you. I'm afraid there's twenty pounds of Kaylee missing , but there's lots of other pretty folks, too.

Wash can't have been in the army, if he was he would have had numero stories to rival Mal and Zoe. He's a man after my own heart : if there's trouble, RUN AWAY!

It's what the good Lord gave us legs for.

Wash don't need no mystery and no secret history, what's wrong with just being smart and running the opposite way of trouble?

Curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal!

On how many levels do I agree with you, Quicksand. This may be a first; I don't know.

But yes, as for Raw Serenity Naughtiness (RSN), I have been freaking out nonstop since then. It is so incredibly hot! And it can't help but lead to speculation that he was, in fact, in the war and may have, in fact, been a hero. He's just moved on, whereas Mal and Zoe haven't. Perhaps easier for him since he may not have been in the thick of things, necessarily.

As for taking discussion in a different direction, y'all point and I will go quickly thereto. It's all about Wash. All. About. Wash!

I'm happy that you agree with me on the Wash's Story point of it, so it's tearing me up that I have to disagree with you on the other point.

When I look at the above pic, I don't see anything to do with the war. I see a man who had a GREAT career as a pilot, and something bad happened. I envision a scene in the movie where Wash has some true heroics, saving a person but sacrificing the plane, or saving the plane but sacrificing his career; any combination.

Because in this pic, he's a hero (Big Damn Heroes, sir), but this is the moment of his Fall... Mal looking out over Serenity Valley, Book leaving the wherever to become a preacher....

My mind reels at just what got Wash kicked out of the Air Force (or whatever Joss's version is called), but I don't think Wash was in the war.

4/22/05 may prove me wrong, but... I'm just sayin'.

I know you're just saying. And I'm just having a fantasy (or ten). No doubt his past is just as colorful as everyone elses-- why else would he be running black market on the rim? And if you're right, that we are looking at the moment of his fall, what with the ship behind him all torn up (plus he looks very angry) then that will also be totally dramatic and intensely awesome.
