Never mind, I was pysched from the previews and had it on my "must watch opening day list" - Ok, call me a nerd but there are some habits that die hard. Ever since my Star Wars days I try to watch an anticipated (by me of course) movie on opening day.

I'm like a big kid at Christmas when it comes to certain movies, especially Kick-ass ones like this (pun intended).

I'm in...........especially after your raving review.

Thanx

Well, contrary to what many seem to believe, the US is actually not the only country in the world and in my country the movie premiered the 14th. Otherwise, I hope you enjoy the movie

Actually we get the similar treatment in the UK but it's generally not as bad as what I've heard you Aussies have to put up with and these days the bigger releases tend to be the same day or within a couple of weeks. Less well known films tend to suffer though and as you say may not even appear at the cinema.

Yeah, we're the same in that we get most of the big ones at the same time (sometimes earlier! Kick Ass came out here on the 8th!) I guess the other times it just depends on the companies. We don't get Harry Brown till May, and we don't get Legion till June, feel like they've been coming forever. Repo Men is July, and Nightmare on Elm Street remake is August apparently!
Ugh!

UK seems to be similar, different films just get delayed sometimes, it's really odd.

Didn't mean to be snobby when I posed the question. I forget that more times than not movies premiere on different days around the world, plus the fact that Firefly fans are from all over the world.

So no, I'm not one of those ugly americans who can't think of anything over than of the USA. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

:-))

Just to sidetrack this thread a bit further and if you're willing to take a fellow Browncoats advice I would give Legion a miss, or at least wait until you don't have to pay any money for it. Major disappointment. I won't spoil it but it's not even so bad it's good (or unintentionally funny), it's just really really terrible.
Harry Brown is supposed to be good but I haven't seen it yet.

I have had that about Legion. Will probably give it a miss until it comes out on DVD, or I get a voucher or something. It's a shame because I love Paul Bettany usually, and a film about angels etc, should be excellent, but it sounds like it just all falls apart.
Harry Brown I'm excited about, love Michael Caine, and I've heard good things.

To take the thread back on topic, I saw Kick Ass AGAIN today. And I loved it again. I went with another friend who I saw it with last time, and a friend we took to see it for the first time. We all loved it. First time, second time, we all had a great time.
Upon seeing the credits roll this time, I decided. This is a release day BluRay buy for me. Love it.

Yeah, Legion was underwhelming for me.. I´m really looking forward to Nightmare on Elm st though, looks good. And Tron, Scott Pilgrim, The Last Airbender and many others.. Good year. But seriously, Kick-Ass.. seen it twice and it just blows my mind. One scene in particular which most people who´ve seen it probably will know is extremely awesome and something I´ve never seen before. Best comic-book movie for me.

Tron and Scott Pilgrim are my other must see's for this year. Can't wait. Scott Pilgrim particularly, I've watched that trailer so many times!

So many great scenes. I absolutely love the entire final act. From around B onward. If people understand my meaning. Love it.

I don't know if Chloe Moretz would like to accompany her, but I would not want to get in the way of her alter-ego.

A team up between an accomplice of a minor criminal, and a merciless vigilante?
