You got that right. The future looks completely choatic in Dredd, could it be that the premonition in Ghostbusters comes true?

Imagine in the not-too-distant future folks from the Red and Blue camps decide to go completely batshit crazy by sleeping together; you know, to create the more perfect union, thereby populating the world with (God help us) ULTRA-CONSERVATIVE LIBERALS! Oh the humanity!
But yeah, I get it. Law and order.

Well y'know it has it's faults but what blockbuster film doesn't? Ok so SERENITY is flawless but what else?!?!!?
The film looks great! It's of the era that constructed these dystopian sets from scratch in the vein of Anton Fursts (RIP) wonderful Batman set. And these old sets tend to give you more of a sense of an actual alternate world out there on screen. So that's good and I reckon Sonisall will enjoy that alot.
Plus isn't there a pretty nifty robot thing in there somewheres? It's been a while I must admit since I saw it.

I really can't remember much about this movie except that I didn't like it and was one of those movies where I thought I'd wasted my money.
Stallone fit the role perfectly though and Diane Lane is always hot. As for Rob Schneider I think the less said about him the better. I just don't find the guy funny at all, I know some do, but I don't.
Plus I seem to remember a scene where Schneider and Stallone are flying through the air (on his bike?) and it looked like a really bad composite against the backdrop of the city. And they were high up and going fairly fast but there was no wind and no hair/clothes movement. I may be wrong on this but it's how I remember it.
Being a kid he'll probably like it but personally I would introduce him to the comics and ignore the film.

I think, like 99% of comic book adaptations, its a good popcorn flick provided you've never looked at the original.
Now, I'm not a major 2000AD nut, but even I regard Judge Dredd taking his helmet off as sacrilege. Plus, the whole "Dredd gets accused of a crime he did not commit" plot is a bit "movies by numbers". He should be riding around doing his usual job and leaving us to ponder the morality of it all.
I'd rate Demolition Man as the better satire - and I'm completely agnostic as to whether the target is Liberalism or Conservatism. As a wise man once says, Capitalism is the exploitation of man by his fellow man; Socialism is the other way round
