The "perfect world" being contentment. Nothing is ever enough. We see it play out on the world stage, as well as in personal relationships.
"Accept me" gets replaced by "Make me happy."
"Enough" gets replaced by "I need more."
We are spoiled as a culture. In one corner, we want the stars. In another, we refuse to give the basic emotional & economic support to the children that need it most- the future adults that will transmit this broken mindset to their own kids.
The report card shows America *FAILS* at family values.
Just look at the kid in Massachusetts that killed herself. Did her family move here from Ireland for that? To see their child SO sad at not being accepted that she needed to die?
