Riiiight, 'cause he didn't suffer nearly enough in the Hanoi Hilton hellhole all those years. Yeah, having to have lived his life as half a cripple just isn't punishment enough for you.

The whole definition of terrorism is just so friggin' loosey-goosey that ANY self-respecting American should oppose this.

Actually, that's pretty much EXACTLY what it means. After all, the main aim of terrorism is to disrupt economies and affect spending. Boycotts, strikes, derision of products... all those are aimed at affecting spending and hurting corporations, which would fit the definition of terrorism.

So if you were planning on boycotting Toyota, you're a terrorist; if you were planning on staging a sit-in to oppose having to buy mandatory health care coverage, you're a terrorist.

My "Outlook" e-mail Thesaurus defines terrorist the following way:

Radical
Fanatic
Activist
Revolutionary
Rebel

Guess they haven't updated it in a long while. I've been all those things during my life, and I 'aint never killed no one.

Or, apparently not enough for him...

Ask the Folk who knew him then :

'...The other and most amusing of the group was an Air Force retiree from the Ozarks called "Bud Day." Bud was a tough bird, very outspoken and very well liked.
He had a few points he made very clearly during our correspondence. One was John McCain.

Bud thought John McCain was a "bullshitter." (continued…)

Bud also had advocated the immediate jailing and court martial of many many returned POWs and was bitter about the coverup. He never said McCain was one of these although McCain has been accused by Bush supporters of collaboration with the North Vietnamese at the "swiftboat" site, www.usvetdsp.com.

I like John McCain and some of the things he has done to try to clean up the political process. However, the real John McCain has a reputation, well deserved, for helping coverup the fact that POWs were left behind and both he and John Kerry were quick to forgive North Vietnam when it turned out there was money to be made using their slave labor for American corporations.

What McCain has never been has been a real friend and supporter of Veterans. He simply hasn’t had the attention span, personal inclination or time.

John McCain has consistently voted against Veterans every time he has had the chance… http://www.vote-smart.org/voting_category.php?can_id=S0061103.

...I tend, at times, to lean a bit hard on the self aggrandizing. McCain learned honesty by being caught stealing. He grew up moderately wealthy and powerful. He received considerable special treatment as a POW and has been accused to overstating personal torture. North Vietnam offered to release him entirely because of his prominent father but he refused. This is to his credit, but it also clearly indicates that he was "special".'

Special , indeed ?

Colonel Bud Day said that all McCain could talk about while in that 'hellhole' was " pussy , pussy , pussy ". He , a married man , supposedly 'an Officer and a Gentleman' , and he could find little else to speak of with fellow POW's other than his sexual conquests ?

Take care how you choose your 'heroes'...

Meanwhile, that self-described patriot Rappy - while going apopletic* about freedom, independence, and government-imposed health insurance - is STILL silent on this topic.

I guess he's more worried about having his money taken away than his freedom.

* Careful there, boy. You might wind up in a hospital.

The aim of terrorism is to promote or enforce a political goal through violence and fear of violence against civilian populations. It's a tactic, and I simply don't agree that it's definition isn't fairly well delineated. In fact as a tactic, it's not that different from enforcing your goals on another nation by invading or threatening to invade, save for budget of the people doing the threatening. The only problem is that people use it incorrectly as a pejorative in order to slur their enemy. Most of the time it's used much like "Gook" or "Jerry".
