When do we *finally* begin to live our lives...?

To be honest I think when we were kids is when we lived the most. It's the time of most lessons learned, and the most varied emotions you will ever experience. Ages 5-18 would be a safe bet. Having a rotten upbringing(I didn't, most of my friends did) just accelerates the human experience.
Also when you retire. I'm nowhere near there, but it has to be a weird mindset. Get paid for enjoying the remainder of life. Yeah, that's gonna be bizarre. I plan to take up a lot of hobbies to keep busy.

Gotta echo EC here. I turned 59 last month. Between my ears I'm still 17, waiting to get going on the stuff I wanta do. A lot of stuff keeps gettin' in the way- wife, kids, rent, grocewries, medical troubles.

I feel like I have lived my life in patches for about 100 years not 40. struggly patches, awesome patches, patches I can't actually remember due to problems with meds...all worthwhile patches in one way or another though I'm still leaky in some respects so I need more patches to cover the holes.
