Found out through the grape vine that my company is holding layoffs today. Wonderful Monday morning huh?
At least my manager already stopped by to say it's not going to hit me or my officemate. I assume my stomach will calm down in a little while.

I gotta say this country just seems to be getting more and more messed up. I was just reading an article about how some guy was running an illegal payment processing operation for online poker. OK arrest him.
The article described how FedEx got suspicious of the volume of packages he was sending so they opened them to find checks. Wait what!? Then the news article listed the amount and recipient names on the checks. WHAT!?! What did they do to get their names printed in the news and some of their financial info too? Privacy be damned apparently.
