The country is making a big mistake not teaching kids to cook and raise a garden and build fires.

WOW... sorry I have been so busy and out of the office this week
So what are we pondering??/
How about why on earth it cost so much to repair one tiny car part..

Cause of unions.
I love how unions were thought up to help the poor little guy worker. Then they became greedy organizations all their own. Can we outlaw greed?

oooooooooooooh don't get me started on car repair costs, lol. There is some extensive work that needs to be done on my car. She's road-worthy, but is in bad need of some maintenance to keep her from pulling a Serenity in OoG
*seconds Zeek's motion to outlaw greed*

Oh yes please.. outlaw greed and our whole economy wouldn't be all frizzled and wrecked.
I know .. the teacher's union was meant to protect teachers and now.. it protects the worst teachers

Of course the problem is that capitalism is sorta designed to fuel greed. It's working way too well though. I think they expected a little greed. Our country is to the point where the tip toppyiest rich people in the country have everything and they just want more. Whether it destroys the economy and the whole country or not.

Quote:ugh, yes. So does tenure. Some of the WORST teachers I had (that my mother and brother had had before me and warned me about, that's how long they've been there) were on tenure, and even though they were completely useless they couldn't be gotten rid of.

So, it's the weekend ^_^ this week went by FAST, wow. I'm glad I can get some down time from studying now.
On a sad note, my dog died yesterday :( *RIP Thumpy* was preoccupying me all day because I wasn't there for him. On the up-side of that, at least he's not suffering any more. Poor thing went really down hill really fast in the last few months, and seeing him have so much trouble was harder than getting the news yesterday I think.

Sounds like what happened with our family cat. It was so sad. I was an absolute wreck afterward.
I wish there was some way to make you feel better. Losing a pet is awful. :-(

My family lost two dogs when I was a child. We had to give a third one away when we moved. I have never had one since. I live in small apartments and that is not good for an animal that needs to run around.
Talking of car parts. There is an air filter for the heater/air-conditioner for my car. It needs to be replaced about every 50,000 miles. It is cheap but they have to tear up my dashboard. It is the labor involved that is outrageous. I've been told that if my seatbelt goes bad they have to replace the entire seat. It all has to do with the electronics involved. I guess if you fly forward in a crash it signals the airbag to inflate.
