Yes, please, if you can take your argument elsewhere, that would be very nice. You don't have to respond to someone taunting you just for the attention/fun of it, you know (hint, hint). Y'know, nobody's interested but you two, and if they're like me, they're not even bothering to click on the links. Old material is old material, it's easy enough to judge for ourselves.

Would be nice if OTB would stop changing the thread title, too, tho' I realize that's too much to hope for. From YOU, Mike, I expect better!

Yes, they seem to have stopped the count, but the form still takes name, etc., to fax. There are still people calling, too, per the map.

Boxer was on TV tonight, and it was good to hear her push--tho' she's still giving the line they all are: "Getting nothing just because we can't get the public option is no good", or words to that effect.

I'm still hopeful, I can dream...

Oh, after this there's more to do. Because not enough Senators will get on-board THIS bus. So the Senators who sign feel very safe from... yanno.. actually DOING anything, while the Senators who DON'T sign will point to the Repubs or Obama or anyplace else, and feel they can ride out the storm.

But PUSH PUSH PUSH!

Push specific Senators to sign the resolution.

Push specific Senators OUT of the Senate come 2010.

And push for California's plan.

I agree. There are still people calling on that website, and the form is still there for people to sign up, but the counter has halted. Dunno what that means, but at least there are still people pushing.

Senate votes to pass bill for health care

SACRAMENTO -- The California Senate voted 22 to 14 to pass Senate Bill 810, the California Universal Health Care Act. Authored by State Senator Mark Leno (D-San Francisco) SB 810 would enact a system of comprehensive, universal health care for every Californian.

State Senator Pat Wiggins, one of the bill's co-authors, said the bill will head to the state assembly.

"If approved by both houses of the Legislature and signed into law by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, SB 810 would establish a single-payer' health care system to provide coverage to all 37 million Californians," Wiggins said.

We told you that the so-called public option was never intended to be anything but a bait and switch to get gullible people of insufficient conviction and determination to give up working for true single payer.

Indeed, it is clear to all by now the degree that Obama is fighting AGAINST any alternative to a complete corporate takeover of health care. First they told us that we could not have anything even remotely in the ball park of single payer because we did not have 60 votes. And yet, even as they are gearing up to force through the most despised bill in American political history by some parliamentary trick that only needs 51 votes, suddenly they can't even muster THAT many for a real alternative.

President Obama was happy to selectively discuss today the various isolated selling point proposals that poll well. But these are just the most thin of sugar coatings on the most gigantic bitter pill the American people have ever been asked to swallow.
