I'm not sure if she's ever been mentioned, but if the name "Washburn" weren't enough, this lady's amazing music combines eastern melodies, bluegrass, and lyrics sung in Chinese in a way that just completely screams Firefly (but not intentionally).
I can't listen to most of her work without getting mental images of Serenity.
If you can, you should get her entire catalogue!

Seems that she's a regional artist for me , and I've just missed some tour dates...
Quick googling turned up some interesting results , am thinking of planning an event for a venue that is very Shindig-gy !

Truly inspired music, fun and kind of trippy. 'Wash' would definitely approve. I can't help but wonder if Joss would ever consider using her music on the show when Firefly returns.
It just seems to be a natural fit.
