A kind of poll.
I tolerate mine, at the moment.

Love is maybe too strong a word in this instance - but I'm very happy with my job. It could always be improved of course, but in the light of how poor things could be - I'm very fortunate. So happy sums it up.
So why tolrate at the moment 'C' ? What's happened?

My job was just to add income while at school; now I'm out for a semester & that makes my job the only thing I'm doing for a while. Hence the "tolerating."
I'm just wondering if Browncoats are happy in their work overall, or if *work* is inherently unfulfilling for most.
Call it my need to know.

I hate my job but have to tolerate it for now. I ain't about to quit unless something else better comes along, and that is not likely to happen due to the economy...and my age. No one wants to hire a soon to be 60 year old man.

Sometimes all of the above, at the same time. I'm very multidimensional.

Come midnight you'll have another member of the 50 & over Browncoat Club right here.
And I'm tolerating the job right now because I got my annual review today. I have a very picky boss.

There are sometimes I like it, like when I get to go out in the field. When I'm behind on things, and when I feel like I could be spending my time better or getting more work for work done, I struggle.
I tell myself that it's what I trained for, and I'm really lucky to have a job, and that I'm helping the community, and yeah, there's times when I really enjoy it. But I'm easily distracted, sometimes I don't feel like I'm doing my best, which makes me feel guilty, because again, I intended to do good for the community. And there's sometimes I wish I could be doing something else. Like exclusively commentating on politics, or Firefly, or writing stories.
And getting up at five in the morning and getting home at 6:30 pm sucks. :/

I love my job, but I'm self employed and answer to myself. I have 15 people under me and enjoy the difference in ages and work ethics. But I pick my employees very carefully so as long as we all get along, the workplace is happy. Bring in the wrong person, and it's like driving on a square wheel. I hate the self imposed stress of having the ultimate responsibility of running the business, but after working under other people, I would never have it any other way than I have it now. I have the grey hair to prove the stress levels of self employment though. So be careful what you wish for, you may get it.
