I actually had nothing to do with this one, though I think they did reference the firefly dvd’s that are still on board the ISS.Flight Day 6 - Shuttle crew awoke @4:14pET to theme song from "Firefly." The Ballad of Serenity, performed by Sonny Rhodes, was played for Bob Behnken.

CAPCOM Shannon Lucid: Good morning Endeavour. And a special good morning to you today, Bob.

Mission Specialist Bob Behnken: Well thank you, Shannon. And a special good morning back to you guys down in Houston for helping us out so much yesterday for a successful EVA 1. And I'd also just like to say that both on Endeavour and on the ISS, there is a little piece of Serenity for each of us who are fans of the Firefly series. Thanks.

Back when Steve Swanson took the DVDs up on STS-117 in 2007, I was rather disappointed that they didn't wake him up this way. Well, at least we know they're still Browncoats up there!

(Bob Behnken's haircut still bugs me, though! )

This could be an excellent marketing tool for Whedon and his cronies..

The genius of Firefly living on after seven years on a shuttle in space..
