The short answer is yes. I've been a SF aficionado since the late 60's thanks to the space program.

yup. I've been hooked on Star Wars, Babylon 5, and Farscape. Oddly enough, never really got into Star Trek, I don't know why. Even read the star wars books before realizing how stupid they were. Overall... I'd still have to say that Babylon 5 was the best series. Farscape was really far out and exotic, and Firefly is a bit homely (I still see a bit of WB-ness like Dawson's Creek, etc in it). Still they're all unique in their own way.

I wouldn't call myself a SF fan at all really. I'd say I'm a fantasy fan maybe.. I used to love Star Wars, but I've never been into Star Trek or any other SF series. Never read any Sci-Fi, either.. What attracted me to Firefly was Joss, and what attracted me to Joss was Buffy. I've always loved badass heroines like Lara Croft, and so in a roundabout way, that's how I became obsessed with Firefly today. :)

My other ship is a Mid-Bulk Transport Standard Radion Accelerator Core Class Code 03-K64 Firefly.

I don't know whether I'd cal myself a sci-fi fan...
My favourite show as a kid was Terrahawks, but I never got into Star Wars, I was too young when the movies came out originally. I quite liked TNG, but I was never a huge fan.

Buffy and Angel did it for me, and I love Firefly more, but it was the fact that the series was set in space that I didn't watch it when I first had the chance.

Trying to remember the first important SF moment for me.

I have a vivid memory of the Horta from Classic Trek, but when I look back at when the shows would have aired in the UK, it doesn't seem to fit - maybe read one of the photo novels or some such.

Also, Spiderman comic - that probably was my first regular exposure to genre writing - from there Asimov. I didn't really get into TV SF until TNG.

I had and still have an extreme dislike for every type of science fiction with the exception of Firefly. I couldn't sit through an episode of star trek if my life depended on it. I became a big fan of firefly, despite my hatred for science fiction because of all the other great aspects of the show.

I have been a Sci-fan both on the screen (big or little) and off. For a as long as I can remeber.

But I have never obsessed over a show like I have this one.

I have done things I never would have thought I would do beacuse of this show.

I flown thousands of miles to another coutry to meet total strangers.

I have driver 6 hours to another city to meet total strangers.

I don't what it is about this show. But I love it and every one involved.

Keep Flying. See you in the world

Of course! Started on books tho- My favorites were "A Wrinkle in Time". "Rocket Man" (Lee Corey) and the Heinlein kid books- "Podkayne of Mars", "Starship Troopers" etc. Really like "Downbelow Station" by CJ Cherryh (which is remarkably like FF in many ways) and most of MZ Bradley (Altho it's really more like sword and sorcery).

Not too crazy about movies, tho. I can usually imagine them better than they can be filmed.
