I got the idea for this from an earlier post by YEAHITSME, found at http://www.fireflyfans.net/thread.asp?b=2&t=956
Basically, I am curious what other Firefly fans think about this: will NBC's "Providence" be the savior of Firefly?
While "Providence" has a 7.7 in the ratings, it is on NBC, where a 7.7 is below average. Therefore, it is to be cancelled.
This means that NBC will be dropping out of the running of prime time shows, or at least dropping below Firefly, which in my opinion is very good news.
What do you guys (and/or girls) think?

It depends on what NBC puts in the place of "Providence." It's not like they are just going to btoadcast a test pattern at 8 pm on Fridays. Then there's the big question of whether "Firefly" will still have episodes to show once "Providence" is off the air. Should "Firefly" get a full season pick-up and rerun some of its best episodes after the pilot and opposite whatever is new on NBC, they might pick up viewers. "Providence" is targeted to female viewers, and I think the networks always underestimate the strong female audience sf shows have, and FOX hasn't taken into account the considerable female audience JW brings with him from "Buffy."
