I just saw "Trash" and I have a few questions.
1. Is Saffron's real name Yolanda, as in was that the name she was born with?
2. Was Durran Haymer the guy she was with before she started the whole "Husband/Crime" thing? lol....
3. Did she decide to steal from Durran to get revenge?
4. How do you spell the name of the laser gun they took...

1) We don't know, and may never know, unless YoSafBrige is brought back in the 2nd Serenity movie (hopehopehope!!)
2) Same answer.
3) My guess is that she saw a chance to get rich (whether before or after the wedding isn't clear) and was waiting to meet up with a crew that could help her run the scam, but not quite smart enough to see that she was planning to scam them when they had the Lassiter in their hands. Unfortunately for her, she underestimated Mal and the rest of Serenity's crew.
4) The Lassiter - taken from the script for "The Message" (In the script for "Trash" they call it "the Mexican")

I don't recall where I read it, but I think that YoSaffBrige was specifically mentioned as NOT being in the movie... Which is a shame, because I thought that aside from being the only woman on the show who gives Jewel Staite a run for most gorgeous on the screen at any moment, the character was a lot of fun. :)

Again, if you believe Yolanda, she says herself that she was trying to retire from her life of crime by settling down with a rich guy on a private floating island.

She did seem angry with him, didn't she? I'm happy believing the reason they supplied in the show: Yolanda didn't want to steal from Durran, but times were tough and she needed the money.

I wonder what her next alias would have been? She could've been a great recurring character.
Ah well, maybe a starring role in Serenity 2 as Badger's estranged spouse...
