In 2004 my husband was part of a mass firing during a convienent "restructuring" of our states unemployment system so they denied everyone's for two months and denied it again anyway after the two months... We hadn't been married too long and didn't have a safety net of any kind. Hate credit cards, but am so thankful I had good credit, the bad news?- we are still trying to pay it off five years later and I am still terrified of it happening again...Gee, just can't imagine why homeless shelters are packed!

Ripper, I haven't heard anything from you in a while, and I worry for you and your family.

You might consider a move to Texas. You'd fit right in down here, I'm sure. And we're less hard-hit than most areas of the country. That said, there aren't a ton of jobs around here, either.

I wish you the very best; you're a good egg.

Check this out..

I have been working for this security company for almost three years now. It might not pay a lot but it's stable job and it will provide you with benefits. I just checked the job openings for Ohio and they are hiring in a number of cities.
I'm not sure if you're interested in this kind of work. I just dont want to end up not doing anything about the unfortunate situation you're facing. Good luck and Happy new year.
