I tend to obsess a mite in my fandom. Most recent example, In "Serial Experiments Lain" (Anime series) I found a new way to fulfill the needs of my soul. So much so even, that last week, out of the blue, I decided to go learn Japanese, just so I can listen to Lain in Japanese, without subs! And I'm diligently learning it as we speak. And I really don't need it for anything else. I'm learning it just because of Lain. That's gotta qualify for geekiness at least on several levels! (some of which may well be disturbing, LOL).
Don't worry, watashi wa mada Firefly wo aishite imasu! :)

Hehe. Arigato gozaimasu! :) I knew I had a good chance with it. :P Almost geeked out myself with it, even.

Dou itashimashite! (You're welcome!)
P.S. Anata wa nihongo wo hanashimasu ka? Or were you just quoting a movie? (That "Mr. Roboto" thingy sounds really familiar somehow, like a classic SF movie I no doubt should have seen -- and probably DID see -- but apparently forgot about).

Styx - Kilroy Was Here - "Mr. Roboto" single reached # 3 on the US Billboard charts. Then it was used in a VW commercial, with Tony Hale (Buster Bluth from "Arrested Development" and Emmett Milbarge from "Chuck") doing the robot dance inside his VW Golf.

Back when Dark Angel first aired, before the television studios realized there was a lot of money to be made from selling series DVD sets, I bought the entire Dark Angel first season from Japan on region two DVDs for $200 and I bought a region free DVD player to play them on.
They have an English soundtrack, but I still pull them out now and then and watch them in Japanese because I think Max sounds hilarious with an Anime girl's voice, and Lydecker sounds like a samurai and is even scarier sounding than he is in English.

Not that, I like Dark Angel, or anything...

How geeky am I?
Hmmmm . . .
One thing that pops into my head is while watching an episode of Big Bang Theory, Penny was helping Leonard get ready for a date. She pulled out an outfit and I blurted out "Hey! A flight suit from Battlestar Gallactica!" Much to my family's astonishment and mockery . . . I was right.
Unfortunately, time and money prevents me from geeking out as much as I would like. I don't have vast collections of anything, nothing I was able to save from childhood . . . I am a failure.
