Morning!

Oh wait, wrong morning...

Morning anyway!

I am waiting to hear from the agency about a possible job. And waiting. And waiting.

I've got a friend coming over today to spend the night before he goes hunting on the property tomorrow morning. He's got a doe permit, so that's at least two deer he can bag if he gets lucky.

Tasty, tasty white tail! I'm hoping that it helps even the odds for our newly planted fruit trees. I'd have to call it "deer pruned orchard" if I was to go commercial. Darned browsers. They're almost as bad as goats. If they just grazed it wouldn't be such an issue, but they love the trees and bushes I plant.

MY FRUITS!! PLANT YOUR OWN, BAMBI!!

My dad's also complaining that they've decimated the trillium in the woods, so hopefully we'll get back that lovely carpet of white dotted with a little red some day if the herds are culled enough over the next few years. He loves those flowers.
Yes, I know the deer are only fulfilling their place in the environmental picture, but they have no predators here anymore other than humans, and not enough of them jump in front of cars to make a dent in the population. The cars, yes, the herd not so much.

They are decidedly no longer a threatened species around here.

I've still never tried bambi, I hear it's pretty good though from all these hunter types and people attatched to hunter types.

I shall give a w00t out to WarnerBros today, for I have in my hand the digital copy of Watchmen I sent away for, and despite the offer only being open to residents of the US, mine still arrived here in far, far away land. I'll probably never, ever use it... but I'm still happy I got it.

Hey that's cool Navy:0 HUGS

Rosie try planting bitterbrush around your orchard. It's like deer ice cream and it's evergreen and pretty as well so they will eat that not your plants:)

Not hardy in my zone and also invasive, but it was a nice idea!

Yeah because it was believed that AIDS was contracted from the monkeys. Not the band but the animal. And we just wanted to deal with that issue - just a couple of points. Just changing the attitude towards AIDS from being "Eww AIDSy" to more like "Oh! Fun monkey disease"

Howdy, good to see you in these here parts again. Seems to have gotten quieter around here as of late. I've de-lurked, so it must be bad.
