1 River,
2 Jayne,
3 Wash,
4 Mal,
5 Book,
6 Zoe,
7 Inara,
8 And finally, Simon.

Well Kaylee never really hit it off for me until she and Simon started their little flirty thing around the time of Jaynestown. So that's why i don't include her, and i forgot about her. (Ducks head from flying rotten tomatoes.)

I agree that it is hard to rank the characters, and they are all equally important for the show, but I still think it is okay to have personal favorites. My list looks like this:
