Could care less about Rhianna.... but the "Rated R" album from Queens of the Stone age still rocks.

True. I liked 'em better back when they were Kyuss, though.
Which ties into the Black Sabbath thing pretty well; Kyuss did a damned good cover of Sabbath's "Into the Void" from their "Masters Of Reality" album.

Never heard of Kyuss - will have to check 'em out.
(though I don't know that it's accurate to say when "they" were Kyuss - as Homme is the only one to be in both bands.)

For future reference, when i say "ROCK", i mean ALL of the sub-genres in the genre. Now, insulting Rihanna, and SLIPKNOT is a plain way to get your motherboard's butt kicked by people today. I mean come on, your insulting the entire next generation, not to mention Diddy, Jay-z, Ludacris, System of a down, Linkin Park, Mudvayne, oh let's see whom else. Oh yeah, Soulja Boy, Hurricane Chris, Island Def Jam, and all the current recording artisits, and record labels for the last twenty years. And while i love, and i mean love Sabbath, Floyd, and all the rest, it's the next generations time, it's not the 70's, 80's, or the first two years of the 90's anymore, it's time to listen to what we as a nation listen to now, as in current. So i take a portion of T.I'S song,"Live your life", which is a deuet with Rihanna, (YES, YES, YES, YES!!! OH MY GOD SHE ROCKS!!!!!), and i'll tell myself to "Just live your life."

Ok. Lets see.
1. If you mean all types of rock, thats fair then, sorry, but I still don't see the comparison to Zeppelin.
2. You assume that the entire next generation like Rihanna? Wrong. I can tell you that out of all the people I know, probably only one or two like Rihanna.
You list all those names as if their music is anything like Slipknot or Rihanna, or as if by saying that I don't like Rihanna or Slipknot, that I'm being some sort of massive dick to the entire music industry. Wrong. (Although for the record, the only band I like from that list is Linkin Park.)
OBVIOUSLY I don't hate all the current artists and record labels from the last twenty years.
It's just that I'm more into different styles of music. Jason Mraz, Buddy Guy, Eric Clapton, John Mayer, Joshua Radin, Ziggy Marley, James Morrison, Sigur Ros, etc etc.
I'm sure you don't like all these bands. Doesn't mean you're a jerk. Just means you're an individual.
3. Just because it's 'the next generation', you're saying I can't listen to older music? Way to miss out on a LOT of classic music. You keep saying that Slipknot revolutionised rock over their 9 year period. Well I'm pretty sure they wouldn't be around without older music. Find out who they're inspired by (other than the devil, and death, and whatever else they grate on about) and listen to that, chances are, if they like it, you might to. Listen to some Otis Redding, some Cream, some Mozart, some Journey, some everything. You might not like it all, but it's all still there. (I'm not saying they influenced Slipknot by the way, just mentioning some great old music).
Music doesn't become obsolete.
4. I have to listen to what the nation listens to? Who's the conformist now eh?

I hope you realize that not liking someone's music isn't the same as insulting them.
Also, it's possible to like some of the acts you mention, and dislike others.
Now take your pills and calm down.

First off, i'm not saying not listening to them is insulting them. I'm saying, that saying that they suck, which i've heard from multiple people, is insulting.
Next off, there are no bigger dicks then Hidi & Spencer.
And saying i think that everone who doesn't listen to what i listen to is a dick, thast's wrong, i may sound like it, but if i call you a dick, then imma come straight up, and tell you.
And saying that i hate the older music is wrong too, i like me Mozart,Journey, Johnny Cash, SOME Elvis, not all. Arethra Franklin. I have a wide range of likes in the music industry, i just thinkm that SLIPKNOT, and RIHANNA are perfect for the times of today, they represent two extremes in the music industry, and frankly there music fits the moods that i'm in, AND THAT'S WHAT I MEAN, if you can't see peoples music from the moods, then you are just saying that people are waisting air.
And another thing, on the conformist issue, i'm a crazy, psychotic dude, man. So that's it, i'm nuts, yah happy, i'm as coco as as daffy duck ;)

I've heard of most of the people and groups you've mentioned, but probably have only heard complete songs by System of a Down and Linkin Park. To be honest, I haven't a clue who or what Slipknot is, so I guess I'm way out of the loop. For the rest, their style doesn't interest me so I don't pay any attention to whether they are popular or not. Just because they are currently on the charts doesn't necessarily mean they produce good music. Don't forget, Britney Spears was a headliner at one time too, and we all know how great she is.
Do you know who Steve Earle is, or Jesse Winchester, or Phil Ochs, Nick Cave, Grant Lee Philips, Gram Parsons, Taj Mahal, Charlie Parker, Mose Allison, Todd Snider, Jakob Dylan, Jimmie Dale Gilmore, Shawn Phillips? I could go on and on, but you should get the point. We all have our preferences, and mine are not yours by a long shot, and vice versa.
