worst book I ever read, Uncle Tom's Cabin; horrible polemic, badly written and moralising and might have started the Civil War according to Lincoln (can't remember the quote properly, it's early here) but it is a terrible book.
As for school, I was a weird mix of geek boy, class smart ass (essentially because I was either not stretched or didn't get it and not motivated, hence all the open university stuff now) and we don't really do the jock thing America does but I played on the football and rugby teams as well as good enough for county athletics. Essentially, my rugby playing protected me from most fights as I was knew the bullies and tried to stop em running riot.
As for boy child, seems like you're going the right way, speaking as someone who comes from a family with a fairly impressive temper history, it does take time to learn not to strike out, sensei should help by the sound of it but also, if it's not to hippy, meditation and gaining the ability to take a centering breathe so you think and act as you want to be treated can help too.
Anyway, I ought to be getting on,have washing up to do before work and all I have managed so far is to check things online, take pain killers and make myself a ginger and lemon tea!

"World Without End" by Ken Follett, or however the hell he spells his name. It was the "sequel" of sorts to "Pillars of the Earth", which took me forever to read cuz it was so damn boring for the first half, but I ended up really enjoying it. The other book, though? NO. BAD. And that's it. That's the only bad book I've ever read - aside from school assigned crap - because I simply do not read bad books. I have awesome taste in paper-wordy-things, I guess. XD

They closed schools in the area for the week due to mass panic (or some such) so I had to stay home from work today to watch Sir Daughter the Brave while Laurelin is in classes ALL DAY!!! Hehehe Hahahaha!!!

I've missed a bit, but for good reason .. BEST NIGHT EVER LAST NIGHT.
My parents are away, so I hosted a Firefly marathon .. 14 HOURS BACK-TO-BACK! So much fun. There were 10 people for the entirety of it, plus one who had to leave but has now asked to borrow the boxset coz she wants to see more!
Only 4 of us had ever seen it before, and I never realised how much fun it was to watch it with newbies. Especially Charlotte, my one friend, who gets so into things she was shouting at the screen. In Heart of Gold, she shouted at those guys for shooting at Wash when he and Kaylee went back to Serenity, and I was just like 'Uh-oh, what's she gonna be like at the end of the film!' She cried.
Anyway, amazing fun times were had lol.
Hope everyone's OK .. especialy MsA, you must be getting pretty uncomfortable about now!

I'm trying to recall the worst book I ever read. My habits of re-reading and sticking with authors I like have served me pretty well. I know there have been books I put down out of boredom or annoyance, and some I may have thrown across the room, and I'm trying to recall what those might have been... Ah, 'Children of Men' was one of them. I didn't even finish it. By all accounts the movie is less preachy and annoying than the book, but I haven't seen it, and most people still found the premise to be ridiculous and full of holes and what was the point, etc. Don't think it tops the list of awful books, but it was pretty bad. There was some trilogy I read earlier this year that was pretty much a waste of time, though I did get through the whole thing, but I can't even remember what it was called.
Snowed in today, more or less. Good thing I didn't have many places to be and the dentist's office was understanding. Give me a chance to catch up on correspondence, perhaps. Or I might waste the whole day playing tower defense games again...

Well...may not be a halloween baby. He's showing no sign of being ready. They did an ultrasound for size and he's right on the line between deliverable and C-Section, but they can't induce with him not ready so we wait. If he doesn't come soonish though it's C-section ( which is really really to be avoided at all costs) SIGH To love someone is to see a miracle invisible to others.
