Curiously enough, my _Zatoichi_ went up by 7% in 24 hours, a whole three percent higher than _Serenity_. I took a bath with Malkovich (heh), 'cause I thought he was gonna play Voldemort, but that turned out false. So what's six bucks....

I signed up and bought some Serenity, but I'm still feeling my way around, knowing very little about stock dealing.
But it's something I've always wanted to learn - does anyone know if playing with this site is a good way to get a bit of basic knowledge about real share dealing? Terminology and so on?
I'm still trying to spend those initial 2 mill :P

I signed up and bought some Serenity (I just like the way that sounds
) but it's goin' down at the moment.
I also bought Rainbow 6 and Constantine which were both going up last I checked (though not much).
And a couple of star bonds including the guy from Serenity whose name I'm not even going to try to spell.

isn't Alan also in Dodgeball?

The price fluctuation is normal. This is caused by non fireflyfans doing what amounts to day trading on Serenity. The volume number refers to the amount of Serenity stock traded in the last day. Traders will note a rise in the buying of a particular stock, buy it and then sell after making a small profit. The initial buying of the stock will cause a rise in price and the selling off will cause a loss in price. If you look at the history of Serenity's stock value you can see bumps in price from developments in the project (various press releases concerning status), followed by small declines in value, followed by periods of inactivity. The cycle then repeats as more news becomes available. The best way to deal with this is just to buy the max shares and then sit on them. Those who did this many months ago when the price was sub $17 have seen a considerable return on investment (my initial buy-in was at $22.87 so I'm showing $787,500 profit right now since I was a bit slow in my initial purchase
). Because we all KNOW that the movie will do more than $39 million in business during the first month of release, Serenity is still very much a value. Unfortunately, maxing out on shares will use up almost all of your initial $2 million. You can earn more fake money by going to the contests link every Monday night and answering a survey question for $50,000. Or trying to click on their advertisers links (more hit and miss, sometimes you get $50,000 and sometimes you don't). Or having a friend sign up and say you referred them for a whopping $100,000.
I hope this information is useful

That was the #1 film I was refering to, although I don't know how big a role he had. Alan's also plays the robot accused of murder in _I, Robot_, which, if it's anything like the short story, is a fairly big part, but I fear the film and Asimov's story will be similar only in that they both utilize the english language to convey a plot....

Ah, yes--pardon the error, it's been a pretty long day.
As far as "I, Robot" goes--I think it's best to divorce the Asimov story from the movie in your brain. Alex Proyas is directing it and Dark City was a great movie, so maybe this will be good. I'm hoping that it's good, that it does well, and that Alan's role in it helps bring more people in to see Serenity next year.
