Russian dolls on Castle-from FF.....?

Okay, maybe I'm trying too hard, and I'll probably miss the REAL FF easter egg... but in last week's episode, Castle spends the case collecting Russian dolls at the stores they go to-- the same Russian dolls that River is drawing at the end of Ariel??? (or War Stories.. can't remember now)
Oh wait, the episode before-with "hands of blue", there is Castle saying "Best case EVER!!" kinda reminds me of Dear Diary.....it was the best day EVER!! And to really stretch it, at one point Beckett in the same show, says the phrase Heart of Gold.
Okay, so I'm trying too hard.
Oh, and to be really sad, I'm on the west coast and still have 1.5 hours until I get to see the new episode. Tragic.

I'd say you're trying a bit TOO hard, but then 'the powers that be' are a crafty lot. I don't know how such decisions to work in references ( from vague to not so vague ) are made, but clearly, the first 10 or so minutes of Castle are a Whedon fan's dream!!!

I'd have to see a side by side comparison of said Russian dolls, but I'd be real surprised if they were intended to be a direct reference. And 'Heart of Gold' is a somewhat common term, but clearly has more meaning to true Browncoats.
