I've already seen it. It rocked, in its own way. They used some existing footage from the pilot and other episodes (intentionally) to weave in a rather nice background story. if for nothing else, it was good to see BSG again!

I think many will avoid this because the series burnt fans and the story went down the toilet

There is a spin-off called Caprica, it doesn't look too bad
