I just got done watching the 1935 verion of "The 39 Steps" with Robert Donet. It reminds me of a film he made with Bob Cummings called "Sabotuer". I think Alfred Hitchcock's earlier films were his best. Alfred liked the poor stooge falsely accused theme. It always worked for him.

For a long while, it seemed CBS had it set in stone that at least one show of theirs had to originate from Hawaii (I guess to continue the Hawaii Five-O legacy).
Tried to find some'n to that effect online, but nothing so far.

Just loaned my set to my boss. I do have a loaner copy of the BDM (I don't loan out the special edition DVD)
As for 1979... I was 12
Growing up in rural VT, with only one channel on the TV (CBS) my TV viewing a was a bit limited. But the local station had other shows on in the afternoon like the Six Million Dollar Man and others in syndication.
Magnum was a must see. My parents let me stay up late on Mondays to watch MASH too. Heck... we didn't even have a color TV until I was 8.
I was 18 when we got one of those 10 foot analog satellite dishes. Five years later they finally ran cable past my house. Figures
