Nathan posted on Twitter that there was an obscure Firefly reference on Castle last night 6 minutes in.
I missed it, though I think I caught a "feed the birds" moment.
Anyone catch it?
ETA: After seeing the other thread that just popped up, I did remember the gloves and thought of the blue hands dudes. Was that 6 minutes in?

Yes it is.
When they go into the con-artists apartment and are going to check for evidence, Nathan puts on a pair of "blue" gloves.

Thanks! For a heart stopping moment, I thought I'd missed something!
Turns out I didn't. Yay!

Beckett: "He likes to hide his nuts for the winter."
Expression: Priceless! "How did those get there?"

Oh, but it's better than that. Go back and watch it and look for what he does just before that still. =D

2x2... Good capture!
Yes, I missed that one.*
So fast it was flashed like a gang sign.
We are not forgotten!
* My screen capture program is hard to operate by hotkey with video running, so I missed it.

The Blue Hands bit was priceless. It is indeed nice to know we are not forgotten. I liked the entire Episode, and feel it was one of their best so far. I got a real "Our Mrs Reynolds" vibe from the entire Episode, because of the Con Artist theme. When Castle speaks on what motivates a Con Artist, the overall "game" aspect of the con, it reminded me of Saffron's motives for her complicated games. Shiny.

I thought so too! This episode is a goldmine for psychological scrutiny. Boy, it would have been fun to see more of Saffron's motivations, once again, if ONLY Firefly hadn't been canceled...
Too bad Sue wasn't played by Christina Hendricks. :)
There were a few problems I saw, though. The fiance wasn't quite believable, I'm with Beckett on how naive and gullible it is to still defend someone after being told they're a conman. And The CIA? Really? Ripping off little kids? I know they addressed that one in show, but there's still fifty thou to blow that theory out of the water.
Funny Castle believed it, though, and it did lead to Agent Gray, who I hope makes a few more appearances (and disappearances).
I think, comparing this season to the last season, that there's a very fine edge to making Castle too smart and overshadowing Becket and the other detectives, and making him too silly so you start to wonder why they're even letting him tag along.
I'm also slightly disappointed that the now infamous sex scene didn't get a more negative reaction. This is a woman who puts a big emphasis on boundaries, who knows most EVERYONE is going to figure out herself and Castle versus Nikki and Rook, and is going to be encountering a heaping of jokes and embarrassment from the force. They're all going to think that maybe they actually HAVE slept together, and she should be a lot more adamant about discouraging that rumour.
But the episodes are still very fun. And the fact that Castle wrote that scene... Lol. Total pigtail pull moment. And something of an endorsement for the speculation that all fiction is really just some kind of wish fulfillment... Sure seems that way whenever an author-insert pops up. XD

I totally agree. Beckett took it way better than I was expecting. When I read that part of the book, I thought "Oh, Beckett is going to have a sh*t fit when she reads this!". Then again, maybe it's a bit of wish fulfillment on her side too
That said, I concur with Agent Gray - HOT scene.
