I could only work from home if it was a salaried situation. If it was hourly, I'd have a hard time doing what I was suppose to do for X amount of hours a day (I kind of face that AT work, too). Salaried would be awesome. I can get A LOT done in a short amount of time and then I'd get to use the excess time for other pursuits.

HUGS Rugbug.. I see you've been watching me... as long as you're not on camera it's yay because you can push yourself and accomplish a lot then doodle around for the rest of the day
and yes my commute sucks. It's about 600+ miles per week and while pregnant it mega sucks... but hey maternity leave in 3 days:)

So, at my company they try to be all "equal" and give Dad's maternity leave too. Which immediately makes me want to abuse the heck out of that and get a bunch of women pregnant at like 4 week intervals or whatever. Sure the child support would be a pain but heck at 100% maternity leave I could work a ton of jobs at once! Send me those paychecks

My friend's hubby got paternity leave. It rocked because she could get sometime to herself to recoup while hubby bonded with the baby. She definitely seemed more refreshed after giving birth than the women whose husband's didn't have that option.
Oh...and a lot of fathers can take leave by way of FMLA, it's just whether they have access to paid leave that's the issue.
*BTW: I do not like that winky face. It is not nearly happy enough or mischevious enough to be winking. It's like a robot wink. Blargh!

I am profoundly grateful that Joe will be home while I'm on maternity leave. One more pair of hands to diaper, hold, walk, and take care of baby. My brother in law couldn't take time and my poor sisters only got showers or a few minutes to themselves if I went over to help...

At least you could watch TV. When I'm home and the power goes out I'm like a lost child. What is there to do without power? Especially if it's night and there isn't even light to read by.
Still no internets is pretty bad. I'd go stir crazy after two days.
