WOW!!! SHINY!!!

Thanks Jewel for taking the time to post. I am so looking forward to the BDM and know you all are probably having quite the Shindig making it. Best to Joss and all the cast. Hope to see more posts in the future.

Keep Flyin'!!!

*so* shiny...

K, so I'm just going to say the same as everyone else - thanks and good luck. I think perhaps that, until my first child is born or whatever, sending that letter to universal is going to rank as one of the best things I've done in my life (although I'm sure it was pebbles in the ocean in terms of actually achieving anything :>)

But: so cool! If there's anything any of the cast/crew/extended-family-of-any-member-of-the-cast -or-crew need, like a place to stay in England, or legal advice, let me know :P

I seem to be particularly incoherent this morning.

Hello Jewel,

Wow, my favourite of our great BDHs posting here on this very site. I'm gobsmacked, this has just made my day!

Many thanks for taking the time to post. "Firefly" really is a unique phenomenon; I've never known any other television programme or film where the cast and crew have such an obvious synergy with the fans, and if anything that fact makes me even more proud to be a Browncoat. It's very obvious that wonderful things are happening with the making of "Serenity" and means so much that you gave us your thoughts.

Please come over and see all your fans in the UK again soon, and in the meantime, keep that ship flying!

Jewell,

Thanks for the update, any info you can slide our way is always muchly appreciated. It's great that you guys get so involved with us lesser mortals.

Love and best wishes.

UK Browncoats,

Since being new to Firefly (watched entire boxset last week and blown away)forgive me for being dim, but any info about past vists to UK and/or future visits in the pipeline of firefly cast would be cool.

Thanks in advance

Jill

Hi,

I believe I spoke to you on the OB. I didn't mention it at the time, because I know how annoying it is to have missed something that you could have gone to, but Starfury conventions that I told you about also ran a Buffy event earlier this year. Nathan Fillion, Jewel Staite and Summer Glau attended. The following is a link to people's reports about it:

http://www.fireflyfans.net/thread.asp?b=2&t=5020

And this is a report from the City of Angel website:

http://cityofangel.com/behindTheScenes/bts4/fusionHapps.html

I believe Joss Whedon also attended a convention in the UK a few years ago. I can't remember the name but I think it began with an N. I'm not sure. And Jane Espenson who wrote the episode Shindig was at a convention called The Harvest a year or so ago.

If you want to know anything about any of these let me know.

Also if someone else would like to reply here I'm sure it would be appreciated by Obsidian as I keep hijacking her threads and she probably wishes I would go someplace that's not here.

Heb,

Not at all, keep the info coming. Especially as very few bods online at this time of day (whilst covertly flicking between web and word doc I have imminent deadline on - it's important to get your priorities right).

I am very easily pleased, just like to get a glimpse and photos of my favourite celebs in the flesh, talking to them is another matter (temporary onset of paralysis) am working up to it. Must have a goal in life!

Thanks

I'm useless meeting Firefly/Buffy cast or anyone for that matter.

I think I was accidently pretty rude to Jewel Staite at the convention, which I feel really bad about. So if she reads this then I apologise profusely. I was having a group photo taken with her, Nathan Fillion and Summer Glau. I get hugely nervous in photos. Firstly I hate having my photo taken and secondly those things are like those military operations where someone shouts 'go' and it's literaly in and out at light speed. So you have no time to overcome the horrible fear and dizziness at meeting the cast. So when Nathan Fillion put his arm round me in the photo in all the confusion of thinking 'Oh my Joss! Nathan Fillion just put his arm around me' I had my back to Jewel Staite and completely ignored her. It was not at all intentional but was completely rude of me. So if she does ever read this I really do apologise.

Then meeting James Marsters (I'm good with the name dropping here aren't I?) he signed a picture for me and I managed to tell him about five times before I left how fantastic it was that he had signed his name. Oh dear.

So I am like the worst people person ever, but in the end you have to risk making a fool of yourself in order to meet this amazing cast. The chance that they'll remember every person that they meet is pretty small anyway.

I don't know whether you have heard the stories on the board of the extra in the movie who got to meet most of the cast. If that had been me I'd never have made the most of it. I'd just have sat there eating lunch on my own, done my scene and then left. I'd never have been brave enough to approach Adam Baldwin or Summer Glau like he did.

Should you venture forth on this site and discover any posts by someone with a name similar to mine, please know that whoever the cad is, he has nothing but respect and reverence for your lady form.

(Hmmmm, I guess I've lost count of all the places I have accounts!)

Jewel, I am very happy you have chosen to visit your fans and I want to assure you that you are welcome back any time, though this is probably my second post here so I'm just guessing about the "welcome" part . You will note that none of us are stalkers (the boob comment would've pulled them out of the woodwork) so you can feel comfortable and drop by, put your feet up, and complain about your co-workers. We won't tell.
