Anyway, I'm not sticking around to find out.

I guess I'm saying that y'all can consider this my official notice: I'm out. I'm done with Dollhouse. I just watched this week's episode, and I just can't make myself care anymore where this is going. The show is egregiously bad, and plots aren't moving along, the characters are people I can't even get interested in, and I just can't invest the time in it anymore.

You know what sealed the deal for my wife and I? Midway through, I looked at her and said, "Ya know, this show is really making me question Eliza's acting abilities, and I'm afraid I'm going to end up hating her in Buffy and Angel because of this show." We talked about it a bit more, and decided that it's time for Dollhouse to be off our DVR schedule.

Who knows? Maybe it will pick up. Maybe I'll check back in the middle of Season 4 and find out it's the best thing on TV...

Meanwhile, I'm leaving the Dollhouse. The real world beckons.

Eli Stone was beautifully shot, but like I said, lighting. I do believe Felicia Day said (the Guild films in HD) something to the effect of you can have the prettiest actress in the world, but if you have bad lighting they're not going to look pretty at all in unforgiving HD.

I'm almost ready to follow your lead Kwicko. The only thing that keeps me watching is knowing Summer is going to pop up in a few episodes. However I am not as enthusiastic about the Whedonverse as I used to be. Every other project Joss has done I've loved and gotten excited about, but now with Dollhouse I feel more cautiously optimistic about anything that comes down the pipeline.

I think I'm just going to catch the Summer episodes and omit the rest. Sounds less painful.

Your Indian Pirate Lord,
Ash

Ya know, I was excited about Alexis Denisof being on the show, but that's turned out to be a big dud, too. I was excited about Ray Wise joining the cast, but I'm out of patience now. It's hit the point that no "special guest star" can save it - ONLY good writing could bail this show out, and I've seen precious little of that. Basically, I've seen one, maybe TWO tops, good episodes. That doesn't include "Epitaph One", because I'm not willing to buy the DVD's just to get one decent episode of a show.
