Just glanced at the Firefly page on Hulu, and was shocked to see this...
Quote:
Availability Notes: After Sept. 25, Hulu will only be able to stream the first 5 episodes of Firefly.
I was always so happy that I could start "converting" a new Browncoat at any time, as long as they had Internet access, and they could watch the entire series before inevitably buying the DVDs.
Or if a fellow Browncoat and I are having a discussion about a particular episode, and neither of us has access to our DVDs, we can just go to Hulu.
Seems like Hulu is getting ready to drop the show entirely from its line-up.

Shows are eventually limited on hulu. Angel is still in its lineup, but only the first season out of five seasons. I think the first two seasons of Buffy may be available there, out of seven seasons. I wouldn't say that limiting a thirteen episode show to five episodes is a precursor to dropping it off the site entirely, it's far more likely that the 'promotional' period is over and the owners of the property no longer want it entirely available online for free. And I think five episodes is plenty for getting someone hooked. Don't freak out.

I think it's interesting that the Firefly property was put up on the site for promotional purposes in the first place.

1 episode is enough to get someone hooked.

Arrested Development is dropping out, too - It will be down to season one this month - (there goes my happy-two episode lunch hour..)

I agree; One Episode is enough to get someone hooked.
-And FIVE episodes is enough to get someone to want the Box Set! It's still a good recruiting aid. If the actions of Hulu have you worried that Firefly might be dropped, e-mail them. If a lot of us write them, they might realize the popularity of having Firefly available. feedback@hulu.com

Rose has a good point. I read somewhere that Hulu will be charging a monthly fee, don't know when though.
My guess is that Fox and Universal have it in mind that new recruits are 'won' over every day and those folks will buy the set.
Still, to this day, it amazes me that this show has such a strong following after 7 years. And the Browncoats just keep on coming.

Well, now I'm really pissed!
I'd been taking my own sweet time re-watching Buffy Seasons 1-3, and today I noticed this...

Availability Notes: After Oct. 2, Season 3 episodes will no longer be available for online streaming. After Oct. 16, Season 2 episodes will no longer be available for online streaming.
I'd only gotten up to S03E13, "The Zeppo", so now I have to try to cram in as many of the last 9 episodes as I can in the next day!
