They did a great job in the writing of this episode. I loved the character development involved in showing Castle's more adolescent side, and Becket's compassionate side. Loved loved the conclusion.

I wish Beckett hadn't given in so easily. Some things a sorry can't fix.

But, I was glad to see they toned down some of the "Castle is smart" schtick and let him go a little more outlandish and irreverent with his theories. :)

Here's the faux-Firefly shout out of this week's episode (in other words - what I tell my wife everyone will swear is a shout-out to Firefly, which it's probably not but still):

Beckett is changing into something a little more "comfortable" to rescue Castle. As she's putting on some lipstick, one of the guys says, "What are you gonna do? Lip-gloss them to death?"

The Firefly reference here being, of course, Saffron's use of knock-out lip gloss.
